The Preacher’s Son Page 5
“Are you mad at me?” she asked, looking concerned.
“No, Aura,” he said, unlocking the door.
“It seems like you’re mad,” she said timidly. “You’re not talking much.”
“I’m not mad. I guess I’m just a little frustrated.” He sighed, looking at her, his eyes guarded. How could he explain that just being near her when she was dressed in her shorts and tight T-shirt was torture for him? How could he tell her that he wanted to ravish her every time he laid eyes on her?
She put her arms around him. “I want my first time to be special. Jeremy, I want to give myself to my husband.”
“I know that, babe. It doesn’t make it any easier though. I can wait. I told you I would,” he replied, sitting on the bed. She stood in front of him, and he averted his eyes. He needed her to leave before he did something that he’d regret, but she moved into his personal space.
Aura pushed herself between his legs and ran her fingers through his hair. Jeremy tried to control his breathing, but even her touch affected him. Her breasts were close to his face, and he closed his eyes.
Aura kissed him, and he groaned, pulling her into his arms, squeezing her tightly. Jeremy could feel his control slipping as he held her and buried his face in her breasts. He fell back on the bed, pulling her on top of him.
Aura groaned at his actions. She could feel his desire, the evidence of his need pressed against her, and she felt herself become aroused and wet. She looked into his eyes, which seemed to now be a deeper blue than before.
“Jeremy . . .” She could hardly speak. The room was hot, and she seemed to melt under his intense, hungry stare.
“I know,” he said, his hand squeezing her butt and pulling her harder against his erection. “I’m trying to be good, but it gets so hard sometimes.” He buried his head in her neck and nibbled her ear. “You shouldn’t have come in here, Aura.”
He took her hand and rubbed it against his erection after rolling her over so they were both lying on their sides facing each other. His eyes were pleading and full of longing.
“Just touch me a little, please,” he begged as he kissed her neck. He licked it, sending shivers throughout her body. “I feel like I’m going crazy sometimes. I want you so bad.”
Aura rubbed her palm against the bulge, giving him a squeeze. He pulsated under her touch, his member straining against the shorts he wore. Jeremy moaned as she caressed him through his clothes.
“Those girls back there in the gym would love to take care of this little problem for you,” she said, teasing. “Sometimes I wonder what makes me so special. Why am I the one you’re waiting for?”
“I’d never cheat on you, Aura. I love you. You’re the one that I want,” he said, kissing her again. “I just want you so bad sometimes. Sometimes just being around you is hard for me.”
He couldn’t resist any longer, his hand straying to her breasts, and she gasped in pleasure at his touch.
“God, they’re so soft. They feel good to my touch,” he confessed.
“Jeremy, I know how you feel. I feel the same way sometimes… I want you too.” She sighed, turning onto her back. She closed her eyes.
“Do you?” he asked, his breath on her ear. “Do you really burn for me like I burn for you? Do you ache like I ache?”
“I do,” she confessed, kissing him as he now hovered over her. She looked up at him and licked her lips.
“Really?” he asked. “I feel like I’m the only one suffering here sometimes. I’m always so weak, and you always seem so strong.”
He slid down her body off of the bed and then dropped to his knees in front of her, pulling her center into face, inhaling deeply. His erection throbbed.
He pulled her shorts down, revealing purple underwear. He could smell her arousal and pulled her panty-clad center into his face. He inhaled deeply and then looked up into her eyes, finding her watching him.
“Aura, I’ve got to have a little something,” he pleaded.
“Jeremy, don’t . . .” Aura gasped, feeling the air on her body.
“Purple panties,” he moaned, kissing her mound through her underwear. “I love purple.”
His breath on her thigh caused more wetness to generate from her, and she tried to close her legs, but he pushed them farther apart. He was kissing and licking her thighs, moving closer to her most intimate part and she thought that she was going to go crazy as it throbbed unmercifully. He paused and then kissed her through her underwear again sending sparks of electricity through her belly. Never had she ever felt this way before, and his actions caused a fire to roar inside, her body demanding more from him.
Jeremy smelled sweaty from his workout, and yet that too she found arousing. She found her hands in his hair as he showered her with more intimate kisses. She spread her legs wider against her own better judgment. It was as if her body had a mind of its own and her mind had no say so in the matter.
“Jeremy… I… I . . .” she groaned, unable to articulate her need for him and how his intimate kisses had ignited something deep inside her that would not be denied.
“Aura,” he responded, his voice husky filled with desire. “Baby, I got you.”
He pushed aside the leg of her underwear, and his tongue came in contact with her most sensitive flesh, and she knew at that moment that whatever he wanted, more than likely she’d give it to him. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced. His tongue was wet and hot on her flesh, leaving a burning trail of fire. She didn’t want him to stop as his tongue explored her sensitive folds, causing a coil of heat to tighten in her center. She could feel herself melting from the inside out as his tongue teased her sensitive flesh.
She felt hot and weak at the same time. Never had he done this before. He had always been the perfect gentleman. She didn’t know if she would be able to resist him now if he removed her underwear and proceeded to make love to her, and she sensed that he knew this and held himself in check.
Aura’s back arched off of the bed of its own accord as she felt the tightness of her core building inside of her. His tongue was doing things to her that she had never before imagined, and she felt as if she would explode any minute.
Just as quickly as he’d started, Jeremy stopped and stood up breathing hard. He bent down, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. “You’d better go. I’ll see you in an hour,” he said, averting his eyes.
Aura was surprised at his sudden change in mood. She tried to get herself together, her body screaming in outrage at having been denied its peak. Aura quickly got up, ignoring the ache inside her demanding to be satisfied. She watched, confused, as he walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. Quickly she got put on her shorts and straightened her clothes. She gave the bathroom door a final glance before she ran out the door, not exactly sure why she was upset with him for doing the right thing.
An hour later, Aura met Jeremy in the hotel lobby. She avoided his eyes until they got in the car. She could feel the tension, and she was a bit confused. Was he angry at her? At himself?
“Are you mad with me?” he asked when he realized that she wasn’t saying anything.
“No, Jeremy. I guess I’m just a little confused… and shocked,” she said, finally looking at him.
“I realize things got a little out of hand earlier, and I apologize,” he said, looking out the window as she started the car. “I realized that I had to stop before I did something that we’d both regret.”
“No need to apologize. We just have to be strong, that’s all,” she said slowly. She looked at him and then looked away, unsure of how to ask him what was on her mind. Even a shower hadn’t dissolved the ache in her core that he had ignited, and she was perplexed as to what to do about it.
“Okay, out with it,” he said, looking at her. “I know you, Aura. Something is on your mind. We might as well get it all out in the open now.”
“I guess I was surprised at what you did.”
“I told you I was sorry,” he said again.
“No, I mean… do you… uh… like doing that?” she said, looking away, secretly wanting more of what he’d offered earlier but not understanding how something like that could please him.
He stared at her. “What are you talking about?”
“I mean do you like doing oral things?” she asked, looking at him directly.
“You’re my first.” he replied. “I decided long ago that some things… I only wanted to do with my wife. You are going to be my wife, Aura… and to answer your question, yes, I liked it very much.”
“You mean you’ve never done anything like that ever?” she asked, shocked. She hadn’t been expecting him to say that, and it pleased her that she was the only one.
“I didn’t do that much. You still had your underwear on, remember?” he reminded her.
“You know what I mean,” she said.
“No, I’ve never done anything remotely close to what I did to you today. You are, after all, going to be my wife. I’ve wanted to do that to you for a while… that and much more,” he admitted. “I think about doing all sorts of wonderful things to you, Aura.”
She sat there a moment and didn’t say anything, stunned by his confession. She wondered what else he had in mind for her, but didn’t ask.
“You didn’t like it?” he asked slowly. “I was hoping that you’d like it.”
“Liking it is an understatement. I can’t stop thinking about it,” she said and then laughed when she saw the relief on his face. “I see I have a lot to look forward to. You’re right. I think we need to work on setting that date… and soon!” She looked at him slyly. “Just one question… why did you stop?”
Jeremy looked surprised. “I had to stop… I mean, I felt that I’d crossed the line and that I needed to stop. Didn’t you want me to stop?”
“Not really,” she confessed, grinning. “I’m still trying to get my body to behave.”
Jeremy snickered. “I’m sorry.”
“You’re not sorry in the least,” she teased. “I bet you wanted me aching like you say you’re aching.”
“Are you going to drive or what?” he asked, grinning and looking at his watch.
She leaned over and kissed him passionately. “I love you. And for the record, I really, really liked what you did, despite you not finishing the job.”
“Love you too,” he replied. “And for the record, you’re welcome, and I’ll finish it on our wedding night.”
Aura pulled up in front of Jeremy’s parents’ house and watched as Jeremy took a deep breath. She hoped that everyone would be on good behavior, though she was sure that something would most likely happen before they left.
“Let the fireworks begin,” Jeremy muttered as he opened the car door.
“Don’t be a sourpuss,” Aura said, laughing. “If you get lemons, make lemonade.”
“Yeah, right, Ms. Sunshine!” he snickered, rolling his eyes.
He got out the car, and they walked around the back of the house. They found his mom out back putting a tablecloth on the picnic table.
“Good, you’re here, Jeremy. I need you to clean off the grill for me,” she said, looking up as they approached.
She smiled at Aura. “Hello, Aura. I’m glad you came.”
“Thanks for inviting me,” she replied, handing Mrs. Ferguson the gift Jeremy had bought for his sister.
Jeremy worked on the grill, and Aura went into the house with his mother. His father was nowhere to be seen, and she wondered where he was.
“Tara and her father went to the store.” Mrs. Ferguson replied after she asked about him.
Jessica was in the kitchen, and the three of them began preparing the food that they were going to put on the grill, as well as the side dishes.
“I heard the news,” Mrs. Ferguson said, looking at Aura. She grabbed Aura’s hand and lifted it up for Jessica to see the ring Jeremy had given her. “Very nice.”
“When are you two getting married?” Jessica asked excitedly.
“We don’t know yet,” Aura replied, pouring the bagged salad into a bowl. “We haven’t told my parents yet. He just asked me yesterday.”
“You live with your parents?” Mrs. Ferguson asked, surprised.
“No, I have my own place,” Aura replied.
“Any brothers or sisters?” Jessica asked.
“Yes, one of each. I’m the oldest,” Aura responded, cutting up some tomatoes.
“How old are you?” Jessica asked, adding croutons to the salad.
“I’m twenty-six,” Aura replied, looking at her and wondering how many more questions would be coming her way.
“You’re still a virgin at twenty-six?” Jessica stated, shocked. “That’s hard to believe.”
Aura didn’t speak for a moment, totally taken aback. “Did Jeremy tell you that?” she asked, sounding upset. Why would he tell his family such a personal thing about her?
Mrs. Ferguson patted her arm. “Please forgive my daughter… she sometimes has a case of diarrhea of the mouth. Jeremy didn’t tell us exactly. We overhead him talking to his father about you… he was defending your honor.” Aura watched as Mrs. Ferguson’s face turned red with embarrassment. “I’m sorry. This is so embarrassing!”
Aura concentrated on mixing the salad after having added the cucumbers. Jeremy had defended her to his father? What had his father said to make Jeremy tell him that she was a virgin?
“That’s all right,” she said, looking up at Mrs. Ferguson. “I’m not ashamed about it.”
“Well are you? I mean, we are going to be family, right?” Jessica asked cautiously. “Are you really a virgin?”
“Why do you want to know?” Aura said, now looking at her straight in the eye.
Jessica blushed. “It just seems strange, that’s all.”
“There’s nothing strange about it. I’m not married. I believe that sex is something that should be shared between a husband and a wife.”
There was silence in the room after that. Jeremy came into the kitchen and immediately detected the tension.
“The grill’s ready. Is everything all right?” he asked, looking at Aura.
“Just peachy,” she said, forcing a smile.
Soon the people started coming in droves. Aura couldn’t keep up with all of the cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as people from the congregation of Reverend Ferguson’s church.
There was a lot of food that people were bringing. Aura noticed that people were looking at her curiously, and many she assumed thought that she was just there to help out with the party.
Reverend Ferguson returned with Tara and several of her friends. She was excited about all the attention she was receiving, and Aura smiled as she watched her jump around.
Jeremy was cooking the hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill, and Aura listened as people milled around him, asking about his life as a model. She glanced at Mr. Ferguson, who sat in a nearby chair talking to another man.
Aura sat at an empty table with her plate. She noticed that some of the guests were looking at her curiously, and she tried not to let it bother her. She glanced over at Jeremy, who was still cooking on the grill and talking to several of the guests.
After everyone had eaten, Mrs. Ferguson brought out the cake and sat it on the table in front of Tara.
“Gather around, everyone, so that we can sing ‘Happy Birthday,’” she said loudly, looking around.
The guests stood around and sang “Happy Birthday,” and Tara blushed and blew out the candles.
“What did you wish, Tara?” her mother said, laughing and clapping.
“I wished that Daddy and Jeremy would make up,” she said, looking at her father and brother sadly.
There was
a moment of awkward silence as Jeremy and his father looked at each other and then back at Tara. Aura glanced over at Jeremy, who was the first to recover from Tara’s declaration. “Oh, don’t worry about us, Little Bit,” he said, laughing. “Pop knows that I love him, and I know he loves me.”
Tara smiled, satisfied with his answer, and then looked at Aura. “Come over here, Aura. I want everyone to see my new sister.”
Mrs. Ferguson gasped as Tara held out her hand. Aura waded through the small crowd of people and took Tara’s hand, smiling down at her.
“She’s marrying my brother! I’ve got a new sister!” Tara declared, beaming proudly. “This is Aura, my brother’s wife to be!”
Aura glanced at Mr. Ferguson, whose face had gone white at his daughter’s announcement. She gathered that no one had given him the good news or he hadn’t been ready to announce it to the whole family.
“Why thank you for such a warm announcement, Little Bit,” Jeremy said. “You just saved me the trouble of telling everyone.”
Aura looked around at the crowd of stunned faces and then back to Tara, who didn’t seem to notice the uncomfortable silence that followed. She was holding the knife, attempting to cut the cake.
“Is this some sort of joke, Jeremy?” one older man asked.
“No, Uncle Matt. Aura and I are getting married,” Jeremy responded patiently.
“I heard his father thought he was gay,” one woman whispered to another.
“Contrary to popular belief, I am not gay,” Jeremy said, looking at the woman directly.
“Maybe that would be better,” Jeremy’s uncle muttered.
No one congratulated them. Everyone returned to their seats, engaging in their own private conversations. Aura thought that most likely she and Jeremy were the topics of conversation. Mr. Ferguson walked into the house and slammed the door behind him.
Aura returned to her table to finish eating, and she felt all eyes on her. She glanced over at Jeremy, who was still on the grill, and saw that he was surrounded by five older men, and they were deep in conversation.
